How to forward calls from Spectrum to Smith.ai

There are two ways to set up call forwarding for your Spectrum number. The easiest and fastest way is using the DialCodes that we included below. If you have a Spectrum Bussines Account you can use their online dashboard to configure your call forwarding. Below are instructions for both:

How to set up Call Forwarding using DialCodes

Forward All Calls

This sets all calls to be forwarded directly to your Smith.ai number

  1. Enter *72, followed by the 10-digit phone number (including area code) that you want to forward calls to. (For example: *72-303-123-5555)
  2. Tap the Call button and wait for a confirmation tone and message.
  3. End the call.

Forward Missed Calls

This will only forward your unanswered calls to your Smith.ai number.

  1. Enter *71, followed by the 10-digit phone number (including area code) that you want to forward calls to. (For example: *72-303-123-5555)To disable dial *91.
  2. Tap the Call button and wait for a confirmation tone and message.
  3. End the call

Turn Off Call Forwarding

To turn off all call forwarding:

  1. Enter *73.
  2. Tap the Call button and wait for a confirmation tone and message.
  3. End the call.

Important Information

  • You must turn on call forwarding from your Spectrum Mobile device. You can't turn it on from another phone or a computer.
  • Calls can't be forwarded to international numbers, only domestic 10-digit numbers, including toll-free numbers.
  • If call forwarding is enabled, unanswered calls won't be directed to your mobile device's voicemail.
  • Call forwarding doesn't affect text messages. They will still come through as normal on your mobile device.
  • If you're having trouble receiving calls, ensure the correct number was entered when setting up call forwarding.

How to set up Call Forwarding for your Spectrum Business Account

The following steps will show you how to forward your calls from your Spectrum Business dashboard:

  1. Sign in to your Spectrum Business account
  1. Once you are logged in, click on the "Your Services" tab at the top
  1. You will be redirected to the page below. There click on the "GLOBAL CALL SETTINGS" tab
  1. Open the "Call Forwarding" dropdown
  1. Make sure the Forwarding type that you want to use for your number is Enabled. It will say "ENABLED/OFF" but we will configure it to turn it on now. Click on the "Configure" menu on the right of the number you would like to forward.
  1. Turn on the switch of the Forwarding type you would like to use (in this case we are forwarding all calls) and add your Smith number under it.
  1. Now click the save button
  1. That's it! You will see that your forwarding has been turned on and your calls should now be forwarded to us. We recommend you do a test call to make sure everything is working.
