How to Connect your Clio Account to Chat

Now, with our Clio integration, we can immediately pass contact information and transcripts from live chats into your law practice management software. It's never been easier to keep track of and communicate with new leads and existing clients who connected with you online.

How it works

When you integrate your Chat account with your Clio account, the following happens for you:

  • New contacts are added after each chat
  • Existing contacts are matched to their current record (by phone number or email)
  • Chat transcripts are added to each contact's record

In Clio, a chat transcript appears in your Communications log, like this:

How to connect your Clio account to Live Chat

(The directions below assume you have an active Clio account. If you don't have one, go get one and then return to these directions!)

1. Once you have a Chat account, log in at and go to

2. Click on Clio.

3. Click "Connect."

4. Review the add-on fee (at the time of writing, $.50/chat) and click "Add to plan" to accept the fee and continue with the integration.

5. You will then be taken to a screen that prompts you to log in to Clio and authorize the integration with Chat. Accept, and then you will be taken back to your Chat account.

That's it! Once your account is successfully connected to Chat, you'll see it listed under the "Connected" category within the Integrations menu. You can connect or disconnect integrations at any time.
