How to Connect Smith.ai to Clio Calendar

There are a few ways to connect Smith.ai receptionists and chat with the Clio Calendar, depending on the way your business currently uses calendars.

The most straightforward way is to create one or more shared booking links using Clio Scheduler.

How to Connect Smith.ai to Clio Scheduler

Note: You will need to have Clio Grow and Clio Manager to set up and use Clio Scheduler.

  1. Connect your Clio Grow and Clio Manage accounts.
  2. In Clio Grow, navigate to Settings > Email & Calendar Sync > Calendar Sync and make sure “Add appointments to my calendar” is checked.
  3. Then navigate to “Appointment Types.” There are a couple of example appointment types, but you should create new ones for your particular scheduling needs.
  4. Click “New Appointment Type.” Give your appointment type a clear name (like “Smith.ai Consultation”), duration, and instructions.
  5. Set your regular weekly availability and click “Save & Close.”
  6. Click “Copy link” next to your new appointment to copy the shared link to your clipboard.
  7. Send your link(s) to support@smith.ai with any instructions on taking appointments. We will begin scheduling new leads and current clients on your calendar within a day or two. This is what your shared link will look like to our receptionists:

  3. To have your live chat agents or virtual receptionists schedule appointments for you, email your Bookings link(s) to support@smith.ai using the subject line “Bookings Link.” Be sure to include any specific directions for using this calendar.

How to connect Smith.ai to Clio calendar using Google Calendar

  3. To have your live chat agents or virtual receptionists schedule appointments for you, email your Calendly link(s) to support@smith.ai using the subject line “Calendly Link.” Be sure to include any specific directions for using this calendar.

How to connect Smith.ai to Clio calendar using iCalendar

Note: this connection requires so many intermediary steps and programs, we doubt you will want to proceed. But for the tenacious among you, here’s how to set up this integration:

  2. Connect your Google Calendar to your iCalendar by following these steps: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/99358?hl=en

  4. To have your live chat agents or virtual receptionists schedule appointments for you, email your Calendly link(s) to support@smith.ai using the subject line “Calendly Link.” Be sure to include any specific directions for using this calendar.

Using Clio calendar with your Smith.ai chatbot

Create a shared booking link using one of the options above, and include it in your chatbot’s Q&A and/or Playbooks so your new leads and current clients can book appointments if they need to. And hey, once you’ve got your shared booking link set up, you might as well put a link to it on your site and add it to your email signature!

Please note: Appointment booking is an add-on service for Starter, Basic, and Pro receptionist and chat plans, and will incur an extra fee. Appointment booking is not currently available for Essential plans.
