How to Pause & Resume an Account in the Partner Portal

Only reseller and wholesale partners who manage payments on behalf of their accounts have the ability to pause accounts. Referral partners that pass through billing will not be able to pause accounts. The account owner will need to reach out to Smith.ai to make billing changes.

How to Pause an Account in the Partner Portal

  1. Log into your Smith.ai partner portal.
  2. Find the account you'd like to pause and press Pause. You can pause chat and virtual receptionist accounts independently.
  3. You'll be presented with a confirmation window. Review the changes and press Confirm.
    When a virtual receptionist account is paused, calls will bypass Smith.ai and go to the primary account number. When a chat account is paused, the chat icon will be hidden on the website.
  4. After you confirm the change, "Pause" will change to "Requested" and you'll receive an email confirmation. Once the change is confirmed by Smith.ai, "Requested" will change to "Resume."

  2. Find the account you'd like to resume and press Resume. You can interact with chat and virtual receptionist accounts independently.
  3. You'll be presented with a confirmation window. Review the changes and press Confirm.
  4. After you confirm the change, "Resume" will change to "Requested" and you'll receive an email confirmation. Once the change is confirmed by Smith.ai, "Requested" will change to "Pause."
