How to Forward Calls from 8x8 to Smith.ai
8x8 customers will need to set up call forwarding to Smith.ai in order for our receptionists to answer your calls.
As soon as you're signed up for Smith.ai and have completed the onboarding process, follow the directions below to change the settings in your 8x8 account to ensure your calls are being forwarded correctly.
How to forward calls from 8x8 to Smith.ai
1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. Click on "Phone System" and then on "View All Extensions."
3. Locate the extension from which you'll be forwarding calls to Smith.ai.
4. Scroll down to "Call Forwarding" and click the "+"sign to expand the menu.
5. Choose the type of forwarding you wish to use (always, busy, no-answer, or internet outage) and check the box "forward to external or extension."
6. Enter your Smith.ai phone number in the "phone number" field.
7. Click "Save Changes."
