How to forward calls from Comcast to Smith.ai

You can choose how you would like to forward your calls from your Comcast line to Smith.ai. Depending on the route you want your calls to take, you will need to follow the steps below:

Call Forwarding Always

 The Call Forwarding Always feature allows you to directly forward your incoming calls to an external number.

  1. Lift your phone receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *72.
  3. You will hear a stutter dial tone for a moment, then a normal dial tone.
  4. Dial your Smith number to forward your calls to.
  5. Stay on the line until the Smith number dialed is picked up by our receptionists. Please let them know it is a test call.
  6. That's it! All of your incoming calls will now be forwarded to your Smith.ai receptionists.

Call Forwarding Busy

The Call Forwarding Busy feature only forwards calls that come in while your phone line is in use.

  1. Lift your phone receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *90.
  3. When you hear the second dial tone, dial your Smith number, and listen for a confirmation tone that the feature has been activated.
  4. Any call that dials in while you are busy on the line, will be routed to your Smith.ai receptionists.

Call Forwarding No Answer

The Call Forwarding No Answer feature will forward your calls that you are unable to answer.

  1. Lift your phone receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *92.
  3. When you hear the second dial tone, dial your Smith number, and listen for a confirmation tone that the feature has been activated.
  4. Now any calls that you do not answer are routed to your Smith.ai receptionists.

The following steps are how to forward your Comcast Business number to your Smith.ai receptionists from your Dashboard:

  1. Log into your account, and navigate to Manage Phone Service
  1. Under your Dashboard, go to Call Forwarding settings

  1. For direct call forwarding, you'll insert your Smith number into the Call Forwarding Always section with the Edit button, and ensure it's toggled on. This sets your line to forward all calls to your Smith.ai receptionists.

  1. To forward calls only if your line is busy, use the Call Forwarding Busy section, and insert your Smith number in that box, then ensure it's toggled on and click Save.

  1. To forward calls if there is no answer on your line, use the Call Forwarding No Answer section. Insert your Smith number and select how many rings you'd like a call to have before forwarding. Ensure your toggle is set to On and click Save.
