How to Connect ActiveCampaign and for Outreach Campaigns Using Zapier

Our Zapier integration helps business owners save tons of time by automating processes that have previously been manual.

This guide will walk you through connecting ActiveCampaign and via Zapier to automatically place an Outreach Campaigns call to a new lead.


To use our Zapier integration to connect ActiveCampaign and, you will need:

Request a Outreach Campaign Call from ActiveCampaign

When a new lead is added to ActiveCampaign, it will request an Outreach Campaign call to that customer.

  1. From the drop-down menu on the left-hand side, click on the orange "Create Zap" button.
  2. Name your Zap. An example might be "ActiveCampaign to"
  3. Under Trigger, search for "ActiveCampaigns" and select the option that appears.
  4. Under Event, choose the event you'd like to act as the trigger for the call. There are many options to use as a trigger in ActiveCampaign. One typical example is when there is a "New or Updated Contact."
  5. Select Continue. If you're not already signed into your ActiveCampaign account, it will prompt you to do so.
  6. Move to the Action step.
  7. In the search bar, type "" and select the option with the orange logo.
  8. Connect your account. More information can be found here.
  9. Under Event, choose "Call Someone (Outreach Campaigns Only)."
  10. Select Continue. If you're not already signed into your account, it will prompt you to do so.
  11. Map your fields.
    1. Add the Campaign ID for the Outreach Campaign you want to send leads.
    2. Map the required contact information fields.
    3. Click here for more information on passing additional data to your Outreach Campaign.
  12. Test the Zap.
  13. Name the Zap.
  14. Turn on the Zap.

How to Connect to Virtual Receptionists

If you subscribe to Virtual Receptionists, you can set up a Zap in Zapier to trigger a call for this separate service. In the "Choose app and events" step, instead of selecting "Call Someone (Outreach Campaign Only)," you'll select "Call Someone (Virtual Receptionist)." Follow the same steps as above. When mapping your fields, include directions for what the virtual receptionist should do on the call — including how to handle the call, language, and callback time. If you'd like, you can set these to default instructions. Follow the remaining steps to save the Zap and turn it on.
