How to upgrade your Smith.ai Chatbot to unlimited Playbooks and Q&A

Your Smith.ai Chatbot uses Q&A and sequential conversation Playbooks to answer questions from your web visitors. When you sign up for a free chatbot, it comes with 5 Q&A fields and 1 playbook already populated with 5 fields that takes a message and directs it to you.

Why would I want unlimited Q&A?

5 Q&A options covers your basis of simple questions someone might have for your business. Think about what's in your website's footer: people are usually looking first for your business hours, contact information, location, service area, and a brief description of services.

Upgrade to unlimited Q&A and you can truly go above and beyond to provide the answers to all the questions your web visitors might want. Use Q&A to provide support, service details, specifics on pricing, terms of service, contact information for separate employees, multiple locations, and anything else. You can even target certain answers to upsell products or services related to the question.

How to upgrade to unlimited Q&A

Click on the link above to learn how to add questions, question variations, and answers to your chatbot’s knowledge base. You’ll notice that you are not able to add more than 5.

Navigate to Account Settings in your dashboard to add unlimited Q&A.

Under plan details, click “Upgrade” next to Unlimited Q&A

A box will pop up confirming your request. This upgrade costs $50/month. You can cancel at any time, but we don’t offer a partial refund for the remainder of the month.

If you have not already entered your credit card information, another box will pop up asking you to confirm payment

Congratulations! You can now add as many questions and answers as your web visitors might have. We recommend starting with your FAQ page. If a web visitor asks a question that your Chatbot can’t answer, we recommend adding that as a new FAQ as well.

Why would I want unlimited Playbooks?

The playbook that comes with your free chatbot gathers essential contact information and asks about the best time to call. This can be helpful to capture leads, but upgrade to unlimited Playbooks to really boost the power of your bot.

With unlimited Playbooks, you can launch a conversations based on the initial question someone asked, better targeting them for certain situations or services. Your chatbot can then screen and qualify any leads, and send them a link to book a consultation on your calendar or make payments. And lead qualification Playbooks are just the first step: you can set up Playbooks to promote discounts, troubleshoot support problems, direct clients to the appropriate employee, and more!

How to upgrade to unlimited Playbooks

Playbooks are like Q&A, but instead of answering a question and then starting over, a Playbook will direct your web visitor to a new set of questions based on their previous response. In this way, your chabot will seem like it knows the context of the conversation.

How to set up a Smith.ai Chabot Playbook

Your free chatbot is pre-loaded with a Playbook that will ask what your web visitor needs help with, whether they’d like to be reached by phone or email, and the best time of day to contact them.

You can make adjustments to this playbook if you like. Here's how to upgrade to unlimited Playbooks for more than 5 input fields or to build multiple Playbooks:
